109km characterized by heavy rain that has granted a respite to the group only in the final kilometers. After a repeated series of attacks Eduard Grosu seemed to be able to reach the victory giving another joy to the “Blue Mountain" Team.
But in the last corner the wet asphalt has betrayed Eduard Grosu: "I arrived very strong in the last corner, but the road was still wet and I lost control of my wheel – Grosu explains in the immediate post race – I had to slow down to keep from falling and this has compromised my chances of winning. It’s a pity because i was ok, we’ll try again tomorrow…"
Tomorrow is scheduled the 2nd stage with 154km from Nitra to Povazka Bystrica.
