The Slovenian rider, in 2016 already winner of the GP Costa degli Etruschi, is the final leader of the Tour de Korea General Ranking. It is the first Tour victory in his career. The results reached with a good team work, together with his team mates Giacomo Berlato that concludes 4th in the general ranking as best Italian rider in race.

Two riders in the TOP5 of the general ranking. One, Grega Bole, on the top of the podium, with the yellow jersey of the Tour and leader of the General Ranking. This is the final count of the NIPPO Vini Fantini in Tour de Korea.
8 stages of Tour, with #OrangeBlue attacking, the last 3 wearing the yellow jersey of leader with Grega Bole. The most important stage has been the 6th from As an to Chungju, the hardest, where champions made the difference. The teammates Grega Bole and Giacomo Berlato, with a join action, arrived to the finish line before the previous leader, joining the 1st and 4th position of the General Ranking and keeping it untile the end of the Tour.
Grega Bole after the great growth of the begin of the season had a bad fall in Amstel Gold Race that put in risk also the participation to the Giro d’Italia. A Giro where Grega Bole participate staying strong, pushed by Stefano Giuliani to be there to give motivation and experience to the youngest riders of the team. Now Bole is back.
For him, also if he already won 15 races in his career, among them the National Champion and a World Tour race, it is the first general Ranking victory:
“I made it, my first Tour won, what a great satisfaction this yellow jersey!” tells Grega Bole “I really want to thank all my team, not only the riders in Korea. They for sure are the first because they help me a lot to join this results. But I want to thank all the team that is not here, as I said at the begin of the year I’m back in a family here in NIPPO Vini Fantini, with the DS Giuliani and all my teammates. This victory is also for them.”
Coming back to the race here the comment of the rider: “I miss only the stage victory, but that I already take it in 2014 here in Korea. To wear the jersey leader is something new and different. This Italian-Japanese projects cares a lot also of all the Asian races. With the blue jersey of De Negri in Japan and the Yellow one of leader here we are honoring the Asian calendar of the team at the top. We want to keep going on in this way.”
The one of Grega Bole isn’t the only debut to the victory of a Tour. On the team car, the new Japanese Sports Directors Shinichi Fukushima, get his first victory after the debut in a great Tour at Giro d’Italia: “Here in NIPPO Vini Fantini I’m learning a lot, working with two experienced sports directors as Stefano Giuliani and Mario Manzoni. After the wonderful experience in Giro d’Italia, here in Korea I had the possibility to lead a great team. Giacomo berate made a great job in the 6th stage, when I ask to him to work for Grega helping him to made out the leader of One Pro Cycling. I’m happy for the victory and I hope we will keep to made good things in next races.”
