Julian Arredondo, Colombian talent of 28 years old decided to relaunch his career in NIPPO Vini Fantini team. He is coming from a World Tour team: the Trek Segafredo.
He is the King of the Mountain of Giro d’Italia 2014, wearing the final Blue Jersey in that season. The same blue jersey that Damiano Cunego went really close to wear and win in 2016 season, with a final 2nd place in the special ranking dedicated to climbers.
Starting from 2017 Julian Arredondo will be a new and key rider of the #OrangeBlue team. The signature took place in Sun-TIMES, the communication agency founded by Francesco Pelosi and Nicholas Figoli, where also the NIPPO Vini Fantini team was born.
Julian Arredondo comes from a difficult season in terms of results, because of posture problems. But Francesco Pelosi supported by the medical and the osteopathic staff of the team is sure that these problems can be easily solved, with a fast and full recovery of the Colombian rider.
Julian Arredondo, will find in the team some people he already work with. In fact in 2012 and 2013 season he was riding for the NIPPO – De Rosa team. A continental team guided by Hiroshi Daimon, that today is the Japanese team manager of the Professional NIPPO Vini Fantini team. The great career of Julian has started in 2013, after the victory of the Tour of Langkawi, when he was noticed by Trek team. In 2014, wearing the Trek Jersey, he won the Giro d’Italia “King of the Mountain” jersey, one stage of the same Giro d’Italia and two stages of the Tour of San Luis.
These the first words, after the contract signature:
“I’m strongly motivated for next season.” said Julian Arredondo “I can’t wait to begin the new work with my new team. A great season is expecting us. I’m sure that together with Damiano Cunego we can win again and have great satisfactions. I know that some other important new riders will be announced during the following days and the team will keep on growing. Also from a personal point of view, it will be an important year of my career. I’m 28 years old, and I really want to demonstrate that I’m able to confirm all good things I made in my previous career. I want to thank the General Manager and the Sports Directors that believes in me, in particular way Hiroshi Daimon that gives me the chance to be there."
