In the Tour of Croatia Eduard Grosu 5th on the finish line is the new leader of Point Leader Ranking, when only two stages are missing. In the Tour of the Alps, on his home roads, Iuri Filosi play for the victory until the end, closing in the 8th position.
Day of good results in the #OrangeBlue team, with 4 riders in the top ten of 2 races. Good day especially for the two young talents launched by the NIPPO Vini Fantini team among PROs: Eduard Grosu and Iuri Filosi.
The sprinter is the new leader of the Point Ranking, and he is now wearing the Blue Jersey of the Tour of Croatia, thank you to his two good placement in 1st stage (2nd) and today third stage (5ht). He will have to wait for the victory, but not for the podium of the special jersey.
In the Tour of The Alps in light the young Italian talent Iuri Filosi, on his home roads, remains with the group of the best riders, together with his teammates Cunego and Santaromita, and then he made the sprint up to the 8th position fighting with the big World Tour riders of this race.
TOUR OF CROATIA – third stage
In Tour of Croatia the sprint is a surprise. The mixed road stage was not expected to be a stage for sprinters, but the “plot” of the stage gives news chance to the #OrangeBlue riders. A chance builded with hard work of all the team to close on the escape of the day. All the team and finally Marco Canola have been working for Eduard Grosu double goal, the stage and the jersey. If the first goal remains for next stages, the second one is reached today with Grosu wearing the Blue Jersey of the Tour in front of two big sprinters as Nizzolo and Minali.
Stefano Giuliani, on the team car, tell his story of the stage seen from the team car: “Our goal stages were supposed to be the first and the last one for sprinters. Today a sequence of episodes gives us the chance to fight for the stage. A chance that we build with hard work, before with Koishi and Kuboki, then with Marangoni and finally also with Riccardo Stacchiotti, they all have been working to close on the breakaway of the day to help Grosu. Then I’m very happy for the work made by Marco Canola, that in a very good condition have been working for Eduard Grosu for the final sprint. Nicolas Marini was free to try his own chance and reached the top ten. Again I’m happy because we have been working as a team, as a big team.”
TOUR OF THE ALPS – stage four
During the fourth stage of prestigious Italian Tour, Iuri Filosi was the #OrangeBlue protagonist. 8° stage position and demonstration that he can race among the best.
Mario Manzoni said about the performance of Trentino rider: “He was motivated during these two stages. Today, as well as in the first stage he demonstrated that if he want he can. He has the possibility to race among the best fighting for the final victory. To achieve the goal you have to be there and try it, he is growing and if he will prove continuity the success will come.”
Tomorrow team will face the last stage. In final ranking Damiano Cunego (20°) and Ivan santaromita (21°) are the best of the team, but Iuri Filosi is demonstrating an important growth and motivation and tomorrow he can try again.
