First day of Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, divided in 2 semi-stages, the first one in line, the second team time trial (splitted in two groups) with 2 #OrangeBlue in evidence: Marco Canola and Iuri Filosi.
The young Italian talent, Iuri Filosi, launched by the team among PRO in 2015, made a good action inside the breakaway of the day, with 8 riders. Passing 1st and 3rd on the GPM of the day he takes 7 points in the special GPM ranking that now leads. Only a puncture stopped him in the most important moment of the race when take place the action of Laurent Pichon, the stage winner, and Lilian Calmejane.
Behind the two escapers, the sprint of the group, “won” by Elia Viviani, with Marco Canola coming in 3rd place in the sprint, with a final 5th position on the finish line. A good placement for Marco Canola that confirms his good moment after the 20th position in Milano-Sanremo, joined also with the help of the other sprinter of the team Eduard Grosu.
Second semi-stage of the day with a team-time-trial, with all the teams split in 2 parts. 14th position on 5o0th for the best NIPPO Vini Fantini group composed by Marco Canola, Iuri Filosi, Eduard Grosu and Ivan Santaromita.
