On the final climb a good job made by Ivan Santaromita, that in the hardest climb of the queen stage was able to remain with the top riders until the end closing with a final 19th place.
THE RACE.
The queen stage, the hardest of the Tirreno-Adriatico with a final strong climb and many intermediate climbs. After some attacks after few km of race the breakaway of the day went out. 6 riders in, among them Nicola Bagioli that after 200km yesterday, today make other 200km of breakaway. 3 intermediate GPM, before the final one of Sassotetto and all the 3 won by Nicola Bagioli that now has 35 points. The group caught the breakaway at the begin of the final climb, where the bigs started their battle for the stage and for the general ranking. Among them Ivan Santaromita, today the best one among the #OrangeBlue on the finish-line with a final 19th place.
THE DECLARATION.
Nicola Bagioli goes on the podium for the third time as King of The Mountain leader and declared: “Today it was very important to go again in the breakaway to reinforce the leadership in the special ranking. At the begin of the Tirreno Adriatico if someone told me that I could win this jersey at the end of the race I would not believe him, but now it is a very important goal both for me and the team. Even if I won 7 GPM I’m not yet sure of the final results we still have to battle for it. Now I just want to rest and find back my energies. I haven’t counted yet all the km of breakaway made, and I do not want to do it.”
