NIPPO VINI FANTINI: GROSU GREAT FIFTH PLACE IN THE SPRINT IN THE GIRO D’ITALIA 13TH STAGE. BEST PLAC

Eduard Grosu, has been working for all the last 5 chilometers for that sprint, following all the best riders, and closing in the 5° position in the sprint won by Modolo (Lampre – Merida). It is the best placement for a Romanian rider in the history of the Giro d’Italia.

After the bad accident of Daniele Colli and his retire Eduard Grosu is the official sprinter of the team, with a condition growing up day by day after two weeks of riding in the Pink race. Difficult and wet sprint as demonstrated by the fall and all the changement in the global ranking. Eduard Grosu, was there for all the last five chilometers with a great determination and good movements, not afraid by his young age, always with the best riders in the 10° position, until the last bend when he tried the sprint.

The NIPPO Vini Fantini rider comments the sprint in this way:” it was a difficult sprint on a wet road, I was there but in the last 300 meters I had to brake twice, on the last bend where I was closed and 150 meters before the arrival because I was going to close to the barriers. For that reason I want first of all to congratulate with Modolo, it wasn’t easy to win. I’m happy because this fifth place is the best result ever of a Romanian rider in the history of the Giro d’Italia, but I’m not gratified for me and the team, I want to do better. There still be two possibile sprint in this Giro d’Italia, I want to be of the match.”
