Japan cycling federation has named its list of track riders for the 2016 Rio summer Olympics. Kazushige Kuboki, 2015 Japan road race champion, has been selected for the Men’s Omnium.
Kuboki and Eiya Hashimoto (NIPPO), who has the national record of the 4km individual pursuit, were racing together for getting a spot of Rio Olympic in Men’s Omnium. After carefully considering between the two riders, Kuboki has been selected.

Kuboki is very happy with this selection but first of all, he deeply appreciates Hashimoto for his great efforts.
“Hashimoto made me much stronger, we had worked hard by competing with each other. I’d like to promise strongly that I would race with my best at Rio for him and all of my supporters, of course include NIPPO Vini Fantini team. I was waiting the day of getting news about the selection from JCF. After hearing such a great news in Italy, I thought my efforts paid off well enough but now I’m feeling the big responsibility, I must do the best ever race in Rio”.
