Chongqing Banan, Tour of China II. the first stage ends with a sprint with the NIPPO Vini Fantini always in the heart of the race, with a sprint arrival won by Mattia Gavazzi (Amore & Vita and a second position of Riccardo Stacchiotti.
The race was quite fast, with a last km with a little rise that requested a strong resistant sprint. The team worked for the two fast riders, Daniele Colli and Riccardo Stacchiotti, with this second one following Gavazzi and trying to overtake him on the final.
Riccardo Stacchiotti is anyway happy: “I tried to start well as in the Tour of Hokkaido, but I didn’t get it for very few, guavas was really good to resist in this long progression and won with merit. Today the team did a great job to put me and Daniele Colli in the best condition to win. We didn’t get it but we will try again in next stages.”
