Marco Canola wins in America, in the final stage of Tour of Utah. With the today victory are now 5 the success of the season for the #OrangeBlue rider achieved in 3 different continents: Europe, Asia and America.
For the tenth time on this season the NIPPO Vini Fantini team goes up on the top of the podium.

Ended in the best way as possible the Tour of Utah for the NIPPO Vini Fantini team with the victory of Marco Canola on the last stage in Salt Lake City. After the 2nd place achieved on the 5th stage, the #OrangeBlue rider goes up on the top of the podium for the 5th time on the current season, finalising the great work done by the teammates.
With this victory are now 10 the success achieved by the NIPPO Vini Fantini riders during the 2017 season, reflecting a season that is giving great sportive satisfactions to the Team.
THE RACE
The 116 kilometres final stage in Salt Lake City saw the riders pass 11 times on a hilly 10.8 kilometre circuit. From the first lap the lead of the group changed several times, because of the action of many riders to made breakaway. Through the 3rd lap 18 riders, including the #OrangeBlue Ivan Santaromita and Damiano Cima, managed to get up the road and gained about a minute on the peloton. The peloton control the escapees and thank to the action made by Alan Marangoni and Giacomo Berlato, with the support of Bardiani and Rally teams, the breakaway ended whith 2 laps remaining in the stage. During the last kilometres of the stage Marco Canola was in a good position and at the end of the final climb he jumped early and held a seconds gap, enough to let him celebrate his victory.

THE WINNER AND THE SPORTS DIRECTOR
A special dedication and emotions coming from Marco Canola at the end of his 5th victory: “I’m really happy for this success and I want to dedicate it to my mum that celebrate the birthday in the next few days. I want to say thank to my teammates for the great work they did today to ensure that I arrived in the best condition at the final sprint. I saw my teammates fight to complete the original strategy and that was an important incentive to win the stage.” Comments with these words the last kilomtres of the stage: “The last lap was really fast but with the work of Giacomo Berlato I took the first position on the group. At the end of the final climb I took the wheel of a Caja Rural rider and at 300 metres to the finish line I saw the gap between us and the rest of the group, so I decided to sprint and take the second necessary for the victory. This success took away the regret for the 2nd place in the 5th stage and give me confidence looking forward the next stages in Colorado Classic.”
Satisfied for this victory is also the Sports Director Mario Manzoni: “We knew we could win because Marco is in a really good condition and also the profile of the stage suited his characteristics. The whole team works hard for this important result and I’m proud of my team for the victory.”
