When 4th stage of Tour of Turkey comes, for Daniele Colli is time for podium. As in 2015, when he arrived in the second place behind Greipel, today he reach the 2° place in the sprint, just behind Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida).
Tour of Turkey, 4° stage and great sprint of Daniele Colli, with the help of his teammathes to reach the top position, made a great final sprint, coming up from behind up to the second place. A podium obtained with energy and experience by Daniele Colli. Only Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) arrived first. The third position of another italian fast rider complete a podium of all Italian riders.
A long escape characterized today stage, then when the group chase them, all the teams with fast riders goes up to the top position for the final battle. For the NIPPO Vini Fantini team, good job of Eduard Grosu and Riccardo Stacchiotti to place Daniele in the first position, than it was all up to his experience to reach a such important placement.
Daniele Colli: “I’m satisfied, but with some regrets for the missed victory. Since from this morning I was feeling good and with Mario Manzoni we decided to try this sprint. The team worked very well for me to give me the chance to be there in the final part. Now I’m looking forward to Satuday stage with the Marmaris arrival where last year I reached the podium. Will not be easy, but we will try it.”
