The long Tour de Qinghai Lake have finished today, in which the NIPPO Vini Fantini riders have been 7 times in the top ten of the stage. Good condition of Mattia Pozzo and Antonio Viola. Not lucky the sprinter of the team, Nicolas Marini, injured and retired just after a good start.
Qinghai Lake, China. Today, Saturday 18th of July have finished the long Tour de Qinghai Lake,in which the #OrangeBlue team have well figured also with some unlucky episodes. The tour was studied for sprinters, but the general ranking have been determinate by the 3 climb stages, with important advantage taken by climbers. The team NIPPO Vini Fantini closed with 7 placement in the top ten among the 11 total stage, with also an 11° and 12° placement.
The unlucky rider of the team is Nicolas Marini, the sprinter that after a good start (7° place in the first sprint), is retired after a fall. The #OrangeBlue have take part to many escape, with Mattia Pozzo that demonstrate to have found his condition and comes back home with a 4° and a 6° place. In the last week also Antonio Viola demonstrated a full recovery after last year injury with 4 placement in the sprint, coming twice in the top 5,
Mario Manzoni, on the team car, give this analysis to the NIPPO Vini Fantini tour: “The tour has been very strong. We miss some luck because many arrival where for sprinters and we lost our two sprinters for falls and retirements. We have been searching for the victory with some escape reaching good placement, but not the victory and we have done well, considering the retirments also in the sprint whit Antonio Viola. I’m happy for him, he is full recovered after last year injury.”
