At the Hotel Garden in San Vito Chietino has just concluded Press Conference of presentation of the Continental Team. A lot of emotions: from greetings by FCI President Renato Di Rocco to some “surprises” about race calendar.
"2014 will be the year of our relaunch. We chose to start from a Continental Team to improve a category in constant growth, enhancing a group of young riders with a high international profile". These are the words of Valentino Sciotti, Patron of Farnese Group and Main Sponsor of the project. Also FCI President Renato di Rocco, present at the conference, confirmed this concept: "I could not miss at this conference, I wanted to give a support to an important cycling partner that has chosen to continue to believe in our wonderful sport with a young team, which starts with best wishes and is structured by higher category".
A Continental Team, but with a great image represented by icon – symbol of the Team, the "Blue Mountain" to be climbed with a young group of riders and an international calendar as the partner of the project. Along with Farnese Group, there is NIPPO Corporation, leader in engineering industry in Japan. And the international profile is also guaranteed by the nationality of the athletes: Italian, Japanese, Swedish, Austrians, South Africans, Romanians for a real "cultural – mix". "The globality of cycling is the heart – says Cristiano De Rosa – and after four years with Hiroshi Daimon we are very happy to continue a project of growth which, together with the esteemed friend Valentino Sciotti, can bring us great satisfaction".
An international project, but without forgetting the traction Italian: "The Italians are the leaders on cycling world – says Hiroshi Daimon – so we Japanese are proud to work alongside you". Internationality, excellence and dynamism: essential elements of partners on the side of the Team as Valagro SpA, International leader of natural organic fertilizers and nutrition specialties: "This Team has the same values of our company – says Stefano Amadei, Marketing Manager – headquartered in Abruzzo, but look at the world. As our company, this team has an international profile and is looking to grow with young talent in a globalized world".
The press conference went fast with its protagonists, with greetings from internal staff (as Maurizio Formichetti and staff of the Medical Sport Department of the University of Chieti-Pescara) and guests (as President of FCI Abruzzo Mauro Marrone and Mr. Santilli), reaching the most exciting moment (and peak on live streaming on ciclonet.it, with 400 users on-line) during the presentation of the athletes, made in tandem by Stefano Giuliani and Alessandro Spezialetti: "We will run to put in evidence our Team, working every day as a united group", these the words of Sport Directors.
Team Manager Rocco Menna closed the conference with two important news: "I want to thank GS Emilia and RCS Sport for inviting us to Dubai Tour: we know it will be a great opportunity to put our Team in evidence. Today we had also received the pre – subscription to MPCC (will be officially confirmed in the next committee of the Association) that completes our attention on control and supervision of our athletes".
