In the second part of the stage only few riders remains in the top, among them Iuri Filosi, strongly motivated and in good condition. he is the last one to give up when only 20km remains to the finish line.
Here some info and comments about the 2 #OrangeBlue riders of the day:
The young Italian Talent Iuri Filosi is a Pro since 2015 with NIPPO Vini Fantini. Among Under23 he as been European Vice-Champion and 6th in the Under23 World Championship in Ponferrada. Among PROs he reached important placement as the 5th position in Volta Limburg in 2016. On the finish line he declared: “Usually I’m not an escape man of the team, but today we try to go with a good group of escapers, maybe also for that reason behind the group didn’t leave us so much space since the begin. In the GPM I was feeling good and I won the sprint, then we have been riding very well. I feel confident when the road climb down so today I push especially in that part to maintain the gap between us and the group. I was feeling good so I was the last one to give up.”
Kohei Uchima, is the other attacking rider of the day, he is a Japanese rider already with experience, as the Rio Olympics and the 3rd place in the Asian Championships in 2015. Today a good action with important riders, and this is his comment on the finish line: “Yes I already had experiences in important races, but this is my first escape in a World Tour competition. A very good test for me and important for the team to help Filosi on the GPM of the day. A good experience, maybe I will try to attack again.”
A good stage today for the team, in Tirreno-Adriatico, matching perfectly with the team philosophy. To attack, to never give-up and to grow-up Italian and Japanese talents with the final goal of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Today a good stage of a young Italian talent and of a rider of the Japanese selection, Kohei Uchima, among the best riders of the Asian cycling.
