Tour de Korea, Asan – Chungju.
6° stage of the Tour de Korea, the hardest and most important, is also the best one of the NIPPO Vini Fantini team. In the first escape of the day with Manabu Ishibashi before and with Giacomo Berlato and Grega Bole in the second and most important one, with Grega Bole second on the finish line and now first in the General Ranking. The #OrangeBlue are great protagonist of the day, leaded by Shinichi Fukushima on the team car and by the leadership of Grega Bole on the road.
Grega Bole knows very well this tour, where he already won a stage in 2014 and many times placed in the top ten in this edition. But with today action, together with his team mates Giacomo Berate and 10 riders he made a good action leaving behind the yellow jersey. In the final sprint of the escape he was second, but he reach the first position of the general ranking, in front of MEGIAS Javier (Team Novo Nordisk).
Grega Bole is happy: “Hard day, it was a very strong stage, to made it into an escape in front of the group it was also hardest, but very important to reach this final result. I would love to win also the stage, but it is ok like that. I already won one day races, also very important, and single stages, but never a general ranking in my career. Me and the team we will battle in this two last stages to keep the jersey, 13 seconds of advantage on the second aren’t so much, will not be easy, but we want to made it.”
Satisfied also the Sports Directors Shinichi Fukushima: “Good job made from Grega and Berlato that work well together into the escape to reach this result. Now it will be hard job to keep the jersey, but we have Grega Bole as leader, but also Giacomo berate just 36’’ behind, in 4° position to play as second chance as a team.”
