Just finished the Giro d’Italia, one of the key moments of NIPPO Vini Fantini season, with the strong emotion of Eduard Grosu in the last stage of Torino and already time for other great news from the Tour of Japan, the other important race of the Italian-Japanese team calendar.
The experienced leader of the team in Japan, Pierpaolo De Negri, try to to win the stage, coming second on the finish line, just behind Cimolai (Lampre-Merida). Victory just missed, but important bonus time gained that gives him the green jersey of the General Ranking.
A stage with lots of #OrangeBlue, thanks also to the 3rd place of Kazushige Kuboki that comes third on the finish line.
Pierpaolo De Negri, one of the two leaders, with Daniele Colli in this Japanese race, answer with determination to this convocation of the team: “My goal still to win a stage here, that today I missed for very few, but for sure we will fight to keep this important jersey. Now I wear it, but just behind me there is also my teammates, the Japanese Champion Kazushige Kuboki. Today I have to thank my team, in special way Antonio Nibali that helps me for the sprint. I was little bit behind but 300 meters before the arrival I start the sprint coming just behind Cimolai that won with merit. We are here to honor this important competition for my team and our Japanese sponsors, this is just the begin we still have to do a lot more.”
