While In Japan the team is still celebrating Marco Canola success, in China the #OrangeBlue riders are riding the Guangxi Tour and today reaching a very good 5th place with Pierpaolo De Negri in the sprint of the World Tour race organized by Wanda Sport. To win the stage is Dylan Groenewegen, in front of Gaviria. Fifth place for Pierpaolo De Negri, the best among Italian riders at the finish line.
After the big victory of Marco Canola in the Japan Cup, the NIPPO Vini Fantini team is still riding and collecting good results. Today a very good placement for Pierpaolo De Negri in the final sprint of the fifth stage of the Tour of Guangxi, the longest stage of the new World Tour race organized by Wanda Sport.
THE STAGE.
After the triple winning of Gaviria, and the climb arrival of yesterday, today a long stage with a mixed road. Many actions started in the first 50 km of the race, but the bunch closed controlling the race until the first KOM where 3 riders went in the breakaway of the day: Daniel Oss (BMC), William Clarke (Cannondale) and Fabricio Ferrari (Caja Rural). In the meantime behind the group started with the selection remaining at the end with 70 riders playing for the stage victory. Among them the #OrangeBlue rider Giacomo Berlato ready to help his teammates Pierpaolo De Negri that made the final sprint won by Dylan Groenewegen in front of Fernando Gaviria. A very good placement of the #OrangeBlue rider, the best one among Italians in race.
THE RIDER DECLARATION.
Pierpaolo De Negri is satisfied on the finish line for the placement obtained in the hardest and longest stage of the World Tour Chinese race: “As in every race the desire is to battle for the victory but for the race dynamic and the level of competitors this results today is the best. I was looking to this stage since from the beginning, because of the long and mixed road. At the end of the last climb few sprinter was in the group, such as Gaviria, but then they went back and at the end was a massive sprint. I want to thank my team-mate Giacomo Berlato for his help. As a team we really want to do good things in this wonderful race. It’s a big honor to be part of it, we want to do well also tomorrow to receive again this important Wild Card.”
